Amira El Gohary


Amira M. El Gohary, MD, PhD, is a Professor of Clinical Neurophysiology, Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. Her main field of interest is visual electrophysiology. She gives visual electrophysiology teaching courses on a regular basis, in and outside Egypt. Furthermore, Amira is a member of the International Society for Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision (ISCEV), in addition to various Egyptian and international societies. Her current research interests include special visual electrophysiological tests as EOG, pattern and multifocal ERG, on/off pattern VEP and multifocal VEP as well as sweep VEP.  She was lucky enough to pursue her work in referral centers with a huge workload. She serves patients of different age groups and all her work is done according to updated ISCEV standards. She has many national and international publications in most clinical neurophysiology topics such as evoked potentials, EEG, EMG and NCS, IOM, polysomnography and magnetic stimulation, while being a peer reviewer in different eminent international journals.
