Marta Banach


Marta Banach is the head of the Laboratory of Clinical Neurophysiology in the Department of Neurology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She holds the title of medical doctor since 1985, awarded by the University of Warsaw, and she has a specialty in neurology since 1992. She earned her MD PhD degree in the area of neurophysiology in 2001 at the Jagiellonian University. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the Jagiellonian University since 2014. She is licensed to assess and interpret EMG, EEG, and EP test results. Professor Banach has years of experience in clinical trials and research projects. Her main research focuses on the neuromuscular disorders and neurophysiology. She is an author of series of papers pertaining to the issues of polyneuropathies, entrapment neuropathy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the use of botulinum toxin in neurology, and myotonic dystrophy type 1 and 2. Marta Banach is a member of numerous international neurological societies, including the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and Peripheral Nerve Society (PNS). She has published more than 140 manuscripts and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals.
